Custom manufacturing & fabrication

Custom Manufacturing and Sheet Metal Fabrication

Equipment designed and built from the ground up, and structural steel fabricated to your drawing: machines, skids, bridges, platforms, cable tray and containment. All of it is built in one Greenville, Texas shop, by a company that has done both since 1976.

Built from the ground up, or built to your drawing

Most fabrication shops build what’s on the print. THG has spent 50 years designing, building and installing industrial production equipment, from 100-foot tunnel ovens to overhead proofing systems. We build the machine, too.

Our engineers on staff design equipment for your product and your building. Then the shop cuts, forms, machines, welds, wires and tests it before it ships. The same shop fabricates structural steel, to your drawing or to one we draw for your sign-off: skids, prefabricated bridges, platforms, cable tray and containment.

One-off parts, repeating production runs and complete machines all go through the same shop, with one team accountable from drawing to dock.

Equipment built from the ground up, for any industry

A bakery line is conveyors, product handling, heating and cooling, cleaning and controls: the same systems most plants run on. Our engineers on staff have designed them since 1976, and the shop builds them for any industry, from packaging, bottling and canning, snack and food plants to warehouse and distribution and manufacturing lines. Conveyors most of all.

Conveyors and conveyor systems

Belt, mesh, modular plastic and roller conveyors for cases, cartons, totes, containers and loose product, in stainless or carbon steel and washdown or non-washdown designs. Indexing, reciprocating, sorting, merging and vertical switch conveyors, too.

Proven on our bakery conveyors, which move pans, boxes, cartons and baskets.

Spirals, elevators and lowerators

Spiral conveyors and vertical lifts that move product between levels or floors, or hold it to cool or buffer, in a small footprint.

Proven on our spiral proofers and coolers, and tray coolers that load on one floor and discharge on another.

Product handling and transfer

Groupers that turn randomly spaced product into orderly batches, pushers and transfers between lines, vacuum pick-up heads, and stacking and return systems.

Proven on our oven loaders and unloaders, groupers and vacuum depanners.

Heating, drying and cooling

Conveyor ovens, dryers and cookers, and heating, conditioning or cooling tunnels with insulated enclosures and zoned temperature control.

Proven on our direct and indirect gas-fired tunnel ovens, proofers and coolers.

Cleaning and debris removal

Dry cleaning systems with brushes, air knives and vacuum collection, for the trays, pans, totes and boards that circulate on a line.

Proven on our pan cleaners and peel board cleaners, which have shipped to Germany, Colombia and Argentina.

Process machines and controls

Applicators, cutters and process stations built around your product, with PLC controls, variable speed drives and control panels wired by our own electrical department.

Proven on our seeders with seed recovery, slicers and line controls with stored product recipes.

Something no one makes? Our engineers design it from scratch, and the shop builds every part of it: frames and guards cut on our fiber lasers, covers and panels formed on the press brake, shafts and mounts machined on our Haas machines, and the wiring done in house. Tell us about your machine →

For bakeries, we build complete lines and every machine in them. See bakery equipment →

Structural steel and fabrication

Skids, bridges and the steel around them, cut, formed, machined and welded under one roof.

Equipment skids and frames

Skids and mounting frames for mechanical and electrical equipment, built to your layout and ready to set, like a recent skid for data center power equipment.

Prefabricated steel bridges

Steel bridges for trails, parks, ranches, utility and data center sites, built in the same shop by our Bridge Division, Roadrunner Bridge.

Platforms, catwalks and mezzanines

Access platforms, catwalks and mezzanines. Our overhead proofing systems are built the same way.

Cable tray and containment

Cable tray, ladder rack, hot and cold aisle containment, and the brackets and hangers that carry them.

Structural steel and supports

Frames, stands and weldments; pipe, duct and strut supports; seismic and rack brackets.

Enclosures and sheet metal

Cabinets, housings, covers and control panel enclosures, with cutouts to your panel layout.

Laser cutting

Sheet, plate, tube and profile on two 6 kW TRUMPF fiber lasers, with copes, holes and weld prep cut in.

Legacy and replacement parts

Obsolete parts made from the original or a drawing when the manufacturer can’t supply them.

Need a few laser-cut parts fast? You Sketch We Cut is THG’s quick-turn service for custom cut metal parts.

Where our work goes

We build for general contractors, prefab and modular integrators, OEMs and plant owners.

Data centers

Cable tray, containment, rack bases, equipment frames and access platforms, scheduled back from your install date.

Power and electrical

Skids, frames and structural supports for electrical and mechanical equipment.

Industrial and process plants

Conveyors and process equipment, plus platforms, mezzanines, pipe and duct supports, and structural steel for expansions and retrofits.

Food and beverage

The bakery lines THG has built since 1976, and conveyors, handling and process equipment for snack, beverage and food plants.

A manufacturer’s discipline on every job

For 50 years we’ve designed, built and installed production equipment for Rich’s, Flowers Foods, Bimbo and King’s Hawaiian. That’s the standard every job gets.

From drawing to dock date

  1. 1. Send the drawing, the process or the problem.

A DXF, a STEP file or a dimensioned print. For a machine, tell us the product, the rate and the space. If all you have is measurements, we draw it and send it back for sign-off.

  2. 2. We check it before we cut it.

Material, tolerance, weld access and fit are settled at the drawing, then quoted and scheduled back from your dock date.

  3. 3. We fabricate under one roof.

Laser cutting, forming, machining and welding happen in one building, so parts never wait at a second vendor.

  4. 4. We inspect, mark and ship.

Weldments are checked against the print, match-marked with hardware and shipped palletized to your dock.

Need it installed? That’s a separate scope.

THG’s field crew can set, level and anchor what we fabricate, quoted on its own. Many customers take fabricated steel on a pallet and install with their own crews. We build for either.

Common questions

What can THG build outside the bakery industry?

Conveyors most of all: belt, mesh, modular plastic and roller conveyors, spirals and elevators, and indexing, sorting and merging conveyors for any product. We also build product handling and transfer equipment, ovens, dryers and cooling tunnels, cleaning systems and process machines. Our engineers on staff design them, the Greenville shop builds them, and our own electrical department wires them.

Do you build complete machines, or only fabricated parts?

Both. THG has designed and built machines since 1976, from single machines to complete lines, and the same shop fabricates parts, skids and structural steel to your drawing.

Does THG build bridges?

Yes. Our Bridge Division, Roadrunner Bridge, builds prefabricated steel bridges in the same Greenville shop, for trails, parks, ranches, utility and data center sites.

Do you build to our drawings, or can you design the part?

Either. Send a print, DXF or STEP file and we build to it. If you only have the problem and the measurements, we draw it and send it back for your sign-off. For a machine, our engineers design it around your product, rate and space. When a job needs stamped drawings, we provide them through our PE partner.

Do you take one-off parts or only production runs?

Both. A single replacement bracket and a repeating run of containment panels go through the same shop and are quoted the same way.

How do we get THG on our bid list?

Request our prequalification packet. It covers company facts and shop capabilities for your subcontractor review.

Do you paint or coat parts?

Structural coating is done by an outside coating partner. Include the coating spec with your drawing and we schedule it with the job.

Where do you ship?

Fabrication ships from Greenville, Texas to job sites nationwide, palletized and match-marked for assembly.

What should we send for a quote?

The drawing, the material, the quantity, any coating spec and the date you need parts on your dock.

Have a drawing to price?

Send the drawing, the material, the quantity and your dock date. For a machine, send the product and the rate you need. We’ll check it before we quote it.
